The big mover up the table is the Bolton Wanderers, who defeated West Bromwich Albion in a thrilling game Saturday afternoon. I didn’t move them up to match their current table position, however, as we don’t yet know if it is going to be indicative of the season as a whole or if it was simply reflective of being Week 1 of 46 and the Wanderers will end up close to the bottom of the table as expected.
The big mover down the rankings was my preseason favorite Stoke City, who were less than stellar in their opener against Leeds United. I hope they’ll be able to turn it around so I don’t look like a fool, but at least I wasn’t alone in picking them to do well in the Championship this season.
Until next time…
