Newcastle vs. Chelsea
Location: St. James’ Park
Chelsea come in to this match as huge favorites on a slate expected to have 2-3 goals scored.
Chelsea have had very mixed performances at St. James park in the past (just to illustrate, Chelsea have won only 1 of the last six visits). To top it all off, they really haven’t rounded into great form (yes — I know they have won both games) beating Huddersfield and Arsenal (but only just). Chelsea almost let Arsenal back into the game and it got way too close for comfort.
Newcastle: I actually think that Newcastle comes into this game having provided much better showing of themselves recently. Yes, they have managed way less points than Chelsea, but this Newcastle side only lost to Tottenham by one goal and played more than 30′ down a player to Cardiff. They’ve also managed to incorporate Mitrovic into the side and provide him with usable service. Normal years I would think this is an easy Chelsea win, but this year I’m not so sure.
