Manchester City v. Brighton
Location: Etihad Stadium, Manchester
City are monstrous favorites in this match in this 4+ goal expected match up with Brighton staff.
City hasn’t shocked anyone with their domination in the League so far. They’ve chocked up a whole lots of wins with any losses. They did play Lyon last week and lost, which is a bit of a shocker. They sit in second place just behind Liverpool.
Brighton needs to work on turning some of these draws into wins. There’s a possibility that a point per match would keep them safe from relegation, but it’s not likely to do much else (even if it does that). The highlight of their season to date has to be their win over Manchester United, but they haven’t really had a great performance since.
Everton v. Fulham
Location: Goodison Park, Liverpool
Everton comes in as slight home favorites in this matchup, though I think if Fulham plays well they can steal points.
Everton has very much looked like the stepchild in the past three games. They avoided defeat (by drawing) with Huddersfield before losing to the West Ham and Arsenal.
Fulham have played well above expectations this season after being newly promoted. However, I still think they need to increase their work rate– though so far it’s been well done and cheap.
Chelsea v. Liverpool
Location: Stamford Bridge, London
This game could come down to the wire. Neither team have much on the other, although Liverpool are currently slight favorites. There is barely a spread amongst this 3 goal projected game.
Chelsea is actually coming off a win in the Carabao Cup fixture last week and it might set the stage for a brilliant matchup this weekend. Kepa is taking longer to settle in than I think the Chelsea would have liked. That said, they’ve managed to look really dangerous.
Liverpool is the lone wolf aloof the Premier League Standings and despite the slip up last weekend, I think Liverpool has a good chance to maintain their form.
Cardiff City v. Burnley
Location: Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff
Cardiff City still hasn’t really shown any reason to expect them to remain in the Premier League when the curtains drop. They’ve not managed to keep any (real number of) goals out or to score many. That’s a terrible combination.
Burnley comes off of a thumping of Bournemouth and the Cherries. They should ride the hot hand like a hot knife through butter.
Bournemouth v. Crystal Palace
Location: Dean Court, Bournemouth
The bookies don’t really seem to be leaning any way, with the favorites for wins, losses, and draws. It will be interesting to see how this out.
The Cherries are one of the teams I think has a solid chance to mix everything up. They were aptly beaten by the upstart Burnley side. I’m excited to see how this team handles the stress.
Crystal Palace have mostly been able to take care of business when it’s important in the League. Benteke continues to struggle with injury issues and is out for an undetermined time.
