(UPDATED) EFL Championship – Week 11 Slate

The Championship clubs find themselves playing two again this week, and if last weekend is any indication, we could see a lot of upsets in the results. As always, the number in parenthesis before each team in their current spot in the Weekly Power Rankings. Home teams are listed first, and winners will be indicated in bold. In the event of a draw, both teams will be placed in italics.

Our Match of the Week will feature our #1 and #2 teams facing off in Middlesbrough, with the home club looking to hold onto what has been a perilous perch in our Power Rankings this season. Derby County will be coming off a midweek matchup against another top five club in West Bromwich Albion, so grabbing four points on the week might be helpful in at least maintaining the status quo.

Sheffield United is also facing off against a top ten club in hopes of reclaiming their perch at the top of the table, but luckily they will be hosting the match against Wigan Athletic, hopefully giving them the advantage. With eight clubs within five points of the top of the league, winning home matches could ultimately be the difference between sailing into promotion, fighting it out in the playoffs, or securing a spot in the Championship again for next year.

Ipswich Town will have two opportunities to pick up their second victory on the season, and it looks like it will be on Saturday if they have any chance. A tough game with Leeds United on Wednesday may be too much to overcome based on their current form, but Millwall, even on the road, could bring a victory and some redemption from the bottom of the table, at least for a week. They are only one week removed from their first victory on the season, and it may only be something that happens at home, but if they were going to pick up three points on the road at this point on the season, it may be against Millwall.

Until next time…
