(UPDATED) EFL Championship – Week 19 Slate

Championship Week 19 Fixtures/Results

At the conclusion of last week’s slate, we officially reached the half way point of the Championship season. For the most part, the season thus far has gone nearly as well as I predicted before the season, albeit with a couple of huge misses on my part (I thought Ipswich Town would finish in 11th place (oops) and current leader Leeds United to finish right ahead of them (double oops).

Per usual, the number in parenthesis before each club is where they fell on our Week 19 Power Rankings. The clubs all begin second-half action with a full Boxing Day slate, followed by another full day on Saturday. Home clubs are listed first, and will be hosting both matches on the week. We’ll keep this updated throughout the week, with winners indicated in bold, while matches that end in draws will have their clubs italicized.

The match between the club with the lowest combined rankings will be dubbed our “Match of the Week,” while the match with the highest combined rankings is our “Match of the Weak.”

(UPDATED) Premier League – Week 17 Slate

It was Arsenal‘s turn to lose to a much lower club last week, though the loss didn’t cause them to drop from their Top Five position in the league table. They remain in the tier above everyone else in the league (as we outlined in our Power Rankings this week), and should stay there again this week with a match against a club towards the bottom of the table.

Next week, Premier League clubs will be playing twice as we reach the midpoint of the season. Until then, we have a solid slate of matches book-ended by perhaps the best two of the weekend, including the one that kicks it all off tonight. As always, the number in parenthesis before each club reflects their spot on our Power Rankings, and we’ll try to keep this list updated as the week progresses. Home teams are listed first, and winners will be indicated in bold. In the event of a draw, both teams will be placed in italics.

Championship Week 18 Fixtures/Results We saw a lot of movement in our Power Rankings after a Week 17 that saw a lot of upsets. This week appears to be no different, with a lot of matches between clubs that are within a few spots of each other. (UPDATED) Premier League – Week 16 Slate

Premier League clubs return to playing one game this week – except for the six clubs that played in European competition this week. After last week’s double-league action, we have a new club at the top of our weekly Power Rankings, though I don’t expect the former number one to stay down for long.

As always, the number in parenthesis before each club reflects their spot on our Power Rankings, and we’ll try to keep this list updated as the week progresses. Home teams are listed first, and winners will be indicated in bold. In the event of a draw, both teams will be placed in italics.

Championship Week 17 Fixtures/Results

We saw a lot of movement in our Power Rankings after a Week 16 that saw a lot of upsets. This week appears to be no different, with a lot of matches between clubs that are within a few spots of each other. But it’s also another week where top clubs Norwich City and Leeds United should remain at the top of the league table, with a potential expansion of their current lead due to many other top ten clubs facing off this week.

Per usual, the number in parenthesis before each club is where they fell on our Week 17 Power Rankings. Home clubs are listed first. We’ll keep this updated throughout the weekend, with winning indicated in bold, while matches that end in draws will have their clubs italicized.

Championship Week 16 Fixtures/Results

The results from last week, when each club played twice, didn’t have the impact on the Power Rankings I was expecting, but it was still an exciting week nonetheless. This week doesn’t appear to be much different, with about half of the matches being hosted by a lower-ranked club this week. With the Championship being deemed the best league in England, nearly any team can find success week to week (sorry Ipswich Town supporters).

Per usual, the number in parenthesis before each club is where they fell on our Week 16 Power Rankings. Home clubs are listed first. We’ll keep this updated throughout the weekend, with winning indicated in bold, while matches that end in draws will have their clubs italicized.
