(UPDATED) Premier League – Week 10 Slate

With six of the clubs near the top of the league playing in European competition this week, we could see some tired legs in five of the matches this weekend, though the only match where it might actually matter is the one that closes out the weekend (and has been anointed as our Match of the Week). Action begins with six matches on Saturday, followed by three on Sunday and ends with a big tilt Monday evening.

As always, the number in parenthesis before each club reflects their spot on our weekly Power Rankings, and we’ll try to keep this list updated as the weekend progresses.  Home teams are listed first, and winners will be indicated in bold. In the event of a draw, both teams will be placed in italics.

The Championship clubs find themselves playing two again this week, and if last weekend is any indication, we could see a lot of upsets in the results. As always, the number in parenthesis before each team in their current spot in the Weekly Power Rankings. Home teams are listed first, and winners will be indicated in bold. In the event of a draw, both teams will be placed in italics.

(UPDATED) Premier League – Week 9 Slate

The Premier League took a week off for international play last week, but they are back with a full slate this weekend.  While the matches are missing the marquee games of the past two weeks – where we saw back-to-back duels ending in draws between the top two clubs (at the time) – we are a bit light on the high drama. Nevertheless, there are a couple of games that should be worth checking out, including the match that kicks off the weekend and the one that ends it.

As always, the number in parenthesis before each club reflects their spot on our weekly Power Rankings, and we’ll try to keep this list updated as the weekend progresses.  Home teams are listed first, and winners will be indicated in bold. In the event of a draw, both teams will be placed in italics.

(UPDATED) EFL Championship – Week 10 Slate

The Championship is back this week after taking an international break last week, and for the first time in what seems like forever, all the clubs are only playing once! The next round of the EFL (Carabao) Cup isn’t until the last week of October, and there are only four Championship clubs – Derby County, Middlesbrough, Norwich City, and Nottingham Forest – remaining in that tournament anyway. Three of the four will play Premier League clubs, so their stay may be ending soon, but Nottingham Forest plays Burton Albion from League One, so they may play on for another round.

As always, the number in parenthesis before each team in their current spot in the Weekly Power Rankings. Home teams are listed first, and winners will be indicated in bold. In the event of a draw, both teams will be placed in italics.

Our Match of the Week will kick things off on Friday, and the rest of the clubs will kick off on Saturday:
Friday, 19 October 2018
7:45pm BST/2:45pm EST

(9) Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 (4) Middlesbrough  **MATCH OF THE WEEK**

(UPDATED) Premier League – Week 8 Slate

Last week seemed to go just as expected in most of the matches, but there were still some results that went a little differently than would be expected based on last week’s Power Rankings. However, with some clubs playing their fourth match in two weeks – because of non-league competition in the EFL Cup, Champions League, and Europa League – the results could be all over the place again this week, which is why it makes sense that there will be a break from league play next week.

As always, the number in parenthesis before each club reflects their spot on our weekly Power Rankings, and we’ll try to keep this list updated as the weekend progresses. Home teams are listed first, and winners will be indicated in bold. In the event of a draw, both teams will be placed in italics.
